About Project

The SiMOF project explores the feasibility of developing ultra-compact, monolithic frequency comb generators based on silicon (Si) micro-ring resonators (MRR). The project consists of both theory and fabrication of such devices, emphasizing a good understanding of the limitations and trade-offs in design, materials, processing and experimental conditions, and will conclude with the experimental demonstration of the devices in a communication system and a high-precision measurement.


The SiMOF project is a 3-year project (2012-2015) funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research, Technology and Production Sciences (FTP-Grant no. 11-117031) (3.5 million Kr).
